The Department of International Medicare and Welfare was established in April 2014. In an era of internationalization, the number of foreign patients who come to our hospital for treatment is increasing, it reaches over 8000 a year. The Department is engaged in improving the hospital environment, arranging medical interpreters and translators and resolving all the other problems in the hospital, in order to make foreign patients receive the "safe and high-quality medical care" irrelevant to at home or abroad.
JCI Accreditation Standards for Academic Medical Center HospitalsJCI accreditation standards are subdivided into 16 areas which includes 1270 measurable elements.A medical institution, meeting the criteria, is certified as a medical facility that guarantees international standard medical quality and patient safety. Accredited facilities have to make continuous improvements to pass the review and get accreditaiton renewed every three years.
Fujita Health University Hospital has obtained the Japan Medical Service Accreditation for International Patients (JMIP). This is to certify that Fujita Health University Hospital can provide safe, reliable, and advanced medical care to foreigners.
Designated as a foreign patient accepting hub
On December 18, 2014, Fujita Health University Hospital was selected as a model hospital to become a pilot case in the FY2014 grant project "Medical institution improvement for accepting foreign patients" of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare. The objective of the project is to facilitate hospital visits by foreign patients.
