The Japan Council for Evaluation of Postgraduate Clinical Training (JCEP) is an organization established for the purpose of conducting third-party evaluations of training programs and the circumstances in which they are conducted in clinical training hospitals in order to improve and heighten the quality of medical care available to the public, thereby contributing to the improvement of such programs and nurturing competent physicians. We will continue to improve the quality of our postgraduate clinical training, and strive to nurture doctors who will be responsible for medical care in the future.

Certified as a Core Hospital for Accepting International Patients

Certified as a Core Hospital for Accepting International Patients

On December 18, 2014, our hospital was selected by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare as a core hospital for the 2014 subsidized “Project to Improve the Conditions for the Acceptance of International Patients by Medical Institutions.”
This policy aims to make it possible for international patients to receive reliable care in Japanese medical institutions, in preparation for the increase in the number of foreigners visiting Japan, and the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics. Ten medical institutions were selected nationwide as a first step, with Osaka University Hospital, Kyushu University Hospital, and Fujita Health University Hospital among them. We are the only hospital located in the Chubu region. The number of hospitals is set to increase to 30 by 2020. This project aims to create a base model of promoting the training and assignment of medical interpreters in accepting international patients, in order to solve issues of training medical interpreters, providing multilingual support for various patient documents such as those explaining test results, and networking with medical interpreters in multiple languages. Our university hospital will improve the environment for accepting international patients, and strive to ensure the quality of medical care for international patients.

As a medical institution accepting travelers seeking medical care through Medical Excellence JAPAN (MEJ), our hospital was selected as a “Japan International Hospital” due to our track record of diagnosing and treating international patients. (28 hospitals nationwide, as of January 2017)
